all the experimentation in deviantart is finally applied to paid work (after my spider-man cover). It's fun to do and I love how little time is spent in PS once you already finish rendering on the traditional art stage.

Of course, there are many ways of doing this and a lot of people do most of the rendering digitally, or the polar opposite, finish the colored piece traditionally.

I still have a lot to learn when it comes to coloring tho and I'm floored by how good painters mix their color palettes.

Traditional pencils/watercolor grayscale + digital colors on PS overlay layer.
